We are B Corp Certified
As a gluten-free, vegan and allergy-friendly company, food inclusivity is a hallmark value on which Partake was built. Today, our social impact goals reach even further.
From whom and how the company is managed, to the products sold, to the strategic selection of nonprofit partners that benefit children and families in need, Partake puts radical inclusivity at its core.
Because everyone deserves a chance to partake in life’s joys–big and small.
At Partake Foods, we are committed to bettering our company, communities, and beyond. From the boardroom to birthday parties, see how we’re planning to make our mark this year.
An Inclusive Workplace
In 2023, Partake is now a Great Place to Work certified. As a Black and woman-owned company with 100% of the leadership team identifying as women, Partake’s investors are also primarily women, people of color, or Funds that support women and people of color.
What’s more, Partake has officially become a Certified B Corporation. The B Corp verification process administered by the nonprofit B Lab measures a company’s social and environmental performance. To become a Certified B Corporation, companies undergo a rigorous review of the impact of their operations and business model on their workers, customers, communities, and environment, and must meet a minimum verified score on the B Impact Assessment.
“Earning the B Corporation Certification is something that our company is very proud of as it reiterates our commitment to making good products for good—better for people and the planet, high-quality, gluten-free, vegan, and allergy-friendly,” said Denise Woodard, Founder and CEO of Partake Foods.
Working With Inclusive Partners
Partake seeks out partnerships with like-minded organizations that champion the fight against food insecurity, provide access to safer foods, and create opportunities for underserved communities.
After partnering with 75 nonprofit organizations in 2022, Partake will continue these efforts into 2023 by continuing to partner with nonprofits across the country and launching three new annual partnerships:
#HashtagLunchbag
Partake will be the 2023 presenting partner for the Atlanta chapter of this organization dedicated to feeding the hungry in local communities by providing bagged lunches – complete with handwritten love notes – as a vessel to spread love and hope. The organization uses social media to empower and inspire others to reap the benefits of giving.
Eat. Learn. Play.
Partake will be the official cookie partner of Eat. Learn. Play. in 2023. Founded by Stephen and Ayesha Curry in 2019, Eat. Learn. Play. focuses on improving the lives of kids and families in the Oakland and Bay Areas, as well as across the country. The organization is rooted in the three most vital pillars for a healthy childhood – nutrition, education and physical activity.
The Birthday Party Project
Partake will be the official cookie of the 2023 Birthday in a Bag program, designed to bring birthday celebrations to homeless children. With over 2.5 million children experiencing homelessness in the United States, this group strives to bring joy through the magic of a birthday celebration so that they can know they are worth celebrating.
Industry Inclusivity
Something else to look forward to in 2023: Partake will return with Black Futures in Food & Beverage. Each year, the program has selected fellows from participating Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) to engage virtually in workshops, fireside chats, panels, and conversations with some of the food & beverage industry’s most impactful leaders. The fellowship culminates in a virtual capstone project and “demo day” that will call executive leadership from household name brands to consider each fellow for an internship.
In 2023, the program will be reimagined to scale impact. More info to come in 2023 on this exciting initiative founded by Partake Founder & CEO, Denise Woodard.
