Spring is right around the corner, and fam, do we have just the dessert for you to try! Tart, sweet, and with a crunch, this Lemon Peach Crisp recipe made with Soft Baked Lemon Cookies from Partake is a gluten-free, allergy-friendly, and vegan treat that you can share confidently with your family and friends.

Crisp vs. Cobbler vs. Crumble

What exactly is a crisp? There are many different desserts in this same family, but little nuances ultimately make the distinctions between them all. Although often interchanged with a cobbler, these two desserts are not to be mistaken for each other. A cobbler is a fruit dessert with a top crust of pie dough, or even biscuit dough, with no bottom crust. A crisp, however, is a fruit dessert baked with a streusel-like topping that has old-fashioned rolled oats and no bottom crust. It is closer to a crumble, which has a similar topping usually made with butter, flour, and sugar, but does not have the oats. In this Lemon Peach Crisp recipe, we’ve given it another twist by also adding our popular Soft Baked Lemon cookies.

Lemon + Peach = The Perfect Match

Lemon is the perfect complement to a peach. Why? Because lemon can add a bit of zing to a blanch peach, while balancing a super sweet peach. Peach season varies depending on where they are grown, and in the US, that’s in over 33 states! Peach season starts in Georgia as early as May while in other states, it doesn’t get going until June before stretching into August or September. So even if you’re shopping for peaches off-season, the lemon in this recipe has you covered and will level out the flavor of your peaches.
